Bob and Elaine with Master Paul Lam
Over the weekend 21-22 May 2005, Bob and Elaine attended Dr Paul Lam's workshop for Tai Chi for Arthritis. This is the Sun style short form and we were assessed on our ability to instruct safely and properly by the Master himself, not only to students who are able to practise the external styles, but also to the benefit of severe arthritis sufferers. It was a very intensive, but enjoyable course and we came away as certified instructors, but more importantly with a wealth of knowledge which can only be achieved by a hands-on approach.
As well as teaching the applications of Tai Chi and the necessity of how to build the Chi (energy life force), Master Paul Lam also demonstrated forms from the Chen style which is a more explosive style of Tai Chi than the Sun style and this was mind blowing!
Although Bob has the knowledge, out of courtesy and respect, Dr Lam has granted Bob full permission to teach Tai Chi from his other productions including Yang, Sun, Chen, Four Elements and Combined 42 Form.

UK Authorised Master Trainer Lesley Roberts congratulating Bob prior to him receiving certification from Dr Lam.
For the benefit of our many Tai Chi students, Bob is happy to announce that he is now a registered instructor with the Tai Chi Union of Great Britain. This will enable us to have access to up to the minute information, particpate in more workshops and of course, offer insurance for any student wishing to study Tai Chi and Chi Kung solely.
APRIL 2007
White Dragon School were approached by Ellie Allen of Cornwall Care (Cornwall County Council) to ask if we would offer residents and staff a Tai Chi taster session. We happily agreed and on Monday 30 April, a group joined us at Newquay Sports Centre for a gentle relaxing class which was also adapted for those who needed to stay sitting. Everyone enjoyed the experience and hopefully we have helped put some of the group on the road to relaxation and general well-being. Our thanks to everyone who took part and to Ellie who painstakingly arranged it all!
